Dioceses of Anglican Community

The Anglican Church of Uganda is the Anglican province in Uganda. It is divided into 39 dioceses, each led by a bishop.Here are the logos of the dioceses within the Church of Uganda:

Brief History on Dioceses

Each diocese has its own unique history, culture, and traditions, but they all share a common identity as part of the wider Anglican Communion.

Some of the dioceses are named after the regions where they are located, such as West Buganda Diocese, East Buganda Diocese, Ankole Diocese, and Kigezi Diocese. Others are named after towns or cities, such as Soroti Diocese, Arua Diocese, and Mbale Diocese. Some dioceses cover a smaller geographic area, while others cover multiple regions.

Each diocese has its own cathedral or mother church, which serves as the center of worship and administration for that diocese. The dioceses are responsible for the spiritual and pastoral care of their members, as well as for managing the various programs and ministries within their jurisdictions.

The Church of Uganda has a strong emphasis on evangelism and mission work, and many of the dioceses have active outreach programs that seek to spread the Gospel and serve the needs of their communities. The dioceses also collaborate with each other and with other Anglican provinces in Africa and around the world to carry out their mission and ministry.
